I use ths weight vest in the morning when i walk the dog to get my heart rate up. I'm 58 and have not run since I left the Army in 2000. I started with the rogue 5 lb Rogue Echo Weight Vest Plates on each side (10 lbs total), then upgraded to the 10 lb weights (20 lbs total) and now I am currently using both the 5 and 10lb weight on each side (30lbs). I have the 20lb weights already on hand waiting for better weather in the Spring. i believe the weight vest is a vital part of my daily exercise regime to stay in better health and it helps me with lower impact cardio work. I do strength workouts and physical therapy in my basement gym after my warning walk.

I'm quite surprised at the low number of reviews (comparatively speaking) for this vest, the 5.11 "TacTec Trainer Weight Vest". This is a great weight vest. I bought mine in Dec 2022, and as of Jan 2025, it has held-up very well. Key benefits/attributes: (1) Snug and secure fitting. Does not move about or "jiggle" once worn and secured appropriately. There's an argument to be made that is perhaps not as secure, snug and lean-fitting as the "ultra lean and secure" Rogue Plate Carrier, but this vest is still *very* good in this respect. (2) Holds weight securely. It does so once you learn how to securely fit a weight plate (or plates) inside the front (and rear) compartments. A YouTube search of "5.11 weight vest load plates" points you in the right direction to some brief instructionals on how to properly insert and secure weight plates inside this vest. (3) In my opinion, *superior*, for physical training purposes, to the older and more-established 5.11 "TacTec Plate Carrier" vest. In particular, this design of this vest is far simpler -- and more effective -- for physical training purposes. I have had good results with this vest, and recommend it. If you are considering an alternative, in my view, the Rogue Plate Carrier is also a very solid choice. Bottom line: I feel that this vest (plus the Rogue Plate Carrier) are both superior for physical training purposes to the very well established -- and much more extensively reviewed -- 5.11 "TacTec Plate Carrier" vest.

Works great! Started with 5lbs in front and back. I like that there are weights in both front and back. Holds weight securely. Watching videos on placing plates inside is very helpful. Going to work up to Max plate weight.

Was looking for a Vest that was tough and durable. I walk and train with the vest and it's just what I needed to get more out of my training as I have less time for myself due to a growing family.

The fit is great!!! Should have bought one sooner.

I switched my upper body training to mostly bodyweight. This allows me to have a heavy day to contrast with my late day. It very well even when doing legs elevated push-ups or feet against the wall push-ups it’s compatible with multiple brands of weight plates additionally, the MOLLE webbing is a bonus because you can add magazine clip holders and then put bar weights from other brands of vest into them to add smaller increments of weight.

This vest is a great piece of equipment for your workout or for training purposes. Worth the money to get you one.

Got the vest about two months ago. Works great for daily workout. Sits tight and comfortable when hiking with it. Can't wait to add more weight as I'm progressing.
