Purchased a few weeks ago along with a Monster utility 2.0 bench. Was initially hesitant to go with a 2x3 (versus a 3x3), but this is solid and I’m sure will last me for many years.

I purchased the S-1 Squat Stand 2.0 with a barbell set and spotter arms as the first pieces of a home gym. I have trained with this set for over a year squatting and pressing about twice per week. I strongly recommend the S-1 Squat Stand 2.0 for anyone looking to start a home gym or looking to add a squat/bench station to their training space. If you have the ceiling space for it, I would buy the S-2 instead to add stability through connected uprights and provide a place for pull-ups. One day when I have the space, I plan to convert to a half-rack to add a pull-up bar and a second set of uprights for built-in plate storage. Pros: -narrow 47” outside diameter - vital for re-racking after maxing out or training novice lifters -Westside hole spacing (RIP Louie) -Lower height good for training in a basement/shed/cave/dungeon -Base does not need to be bolted down -Safeties do not extend beyond the base as they do for SML-1/2/3; I have tipped over a SML-2 doing rack pulls off the safeties because of this -Conversion compatible to S-2/HR-2 Cons: -no pull-up bar -uprights not as stable as ones connected as in models like S-2 -Rogue sticker on the upright was placed upside down -Infinity J-cups do not have forward UHMW lining - for a consistent unrack, I roll the bar all the way forward, but It’s grinding down the knurling on the barbell and the front of the J-cup

Bought this a month ago and love it. Took about 15 minutes to set up (just need two wrenches) and the rack is solid as a rock. I got this as I only have limited space to work with and the only accessory I can afford space wise are the spotter arms, which I have and recommend. It’s simple and effective - your one stop shop for squats, presses and pulls. I’ve had over 400 pounds on it for squats and it doesn’t budge. It also fit perfectly on my 4x4 foot rubber mat I had. The footprint was the reason I got it, as it matches my industrial mat I happened to have. The SML-1 is a inch wider. If you’re in the market, take a look at both this one and the SML-1, as the SML has more accessory options and upgrades, including a wheel set, as either rack is quite cumbersome to move if needed. Taller people also need to be aware of its 70” height, but as my ceiling is low, it’s perfect for me. If you’re like me and have limited space and don’t want accessories, the S-1 will fit the bill.
