MobilityWOD Leopard Paw
The Ready State

A close cousin of the original MobilityWOD Leopard Claw, the new Leopard Paw features a shorter overall length (7” vs. 10.25”) and a wider grip (1.5” vs. 1”) with a less aggressive edge. This makes it the ideal on-the-go mobility tool; sized for a pocket or purse and ergonomically suited for anytime use and any type of athlete, including those with softer skin or less muscle tone.

Like the Claw tool, the Leopard Paw is inspired by the ancient Chinese recovery technique of Gua Sha—known to modern trainers as Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). The continuous treatment edge gives the user the ability to safely and precisely “scrape” damaged muscle tissue, potentially improving blood flow and promoting faster healing.

While early Gua Sha treatments were conducted with horns or animal bones, the Leopard Paw provides a much more effective, modern design—made in the USA from medical grade stainless steel with treatment benefits on all edges and two different finish options to choose from:

  • Laser-Engraved Spots: Best for everyday self-use.
  • Raised Spots: Best for practitioners or anyone who prefers a little extra grip.

With both versions, the non-spotted side of the tool features the words: "The Ready State."

No matter which area of the body you’re treating, MobilityWOD recommends using an emollient on the skin to provide a smooth glide for the tool. A water soluble product can help neutralize your skin's pH by preventing bacterial growth. This also helps promote healthy skin and minimizes clean up when you are done scraping.

Important: During a treatment session, it is recommended that athletes discontinue use of the Leopard Paw on a targeted area once they see the appearance of the little red spots called petechiae. There is no need to cause visual bruising because that will require the body to clear the damaged tissue.

Best tool for scraping!
I have used a variety of tools for Gua Sha and tissue scraping. This is by far the best. Spend the extra $50 and get the raised one. It makes a huge difference in how much pressure you can apply. It will become your go to mobility/treatment tool

Perfect tool
To be honest I was using a butter knife for a long time because I didn't think it was worth how much $ it was. I had a friend let me use his and knew I had to get one. Its perfect and odes exactly what it supposed to do. its design allows you to "scrap" more effectively and get in areas the a butter knife won't. it will not disappoint. (im not sure if I have to but I will to be clear. when using a butter knife to "scrape" you use the rounded handle and at no time would you use the knife edge or the back of the knife edge. I also am not a specialist and I am not making any recommendations)

The Ultimate Recovery acraper
If you are deciding between laser engraved or the Raised; SELECT RAISED. If you’re buying a scraper, it’s probably for self use which means your hands are already going to be having a moisturizer or cream and the tool slip when it’s laser engraved. For self use, select raised if you intend on targeting; Forearm’s and elbows Ankles and shins Biceps Subscapularis Obliques Ribs (T-1 to T-12) Around knee caps Around the hip Personally, I used to do a lot of rowing intervals and thrusters, so this tool worked phenomenal for me specifically for self use on my: Hands - construction work and chronic carpool tunnel symptoms Clavicle area (receiving/meeting barbell from power cleans/thrusters/push press/Bear complex etc) Feet, Ankles and shins - barbell cycling, deadlifts, double unders, running To be transparent, I’ve used the laser engraved for over four years on myself and many others. It is my most used instrument from a pool of different 33 types ( I posted a video of some I keep at home). Recently, I’ve been blessed with the Raised tool and I will utilize this one forever. I wish I put the extra $50. The raised spots really let you target those tedious crevices which require focus and It really gets unproductive in scenarios when you feel like the targeted area is going to release from static pressure, however you cannot apply any more force to finish because you know your fingers will slip off. The weight of the tool is perfect (regardless of the finish type), I hope this helps and you heal soon!

Tremendous Value. Use it daily.
I have the original Leopard Claw. Great tool. You can feel the disturbed tissue through it as you work things out.

Great tool for practitioner use and personal use!
I have used all of the claws and paws for over the last year almost every day with hundreds of patients. By far, my favorite multipurpose tool, is the raised leopard print Leopard Paw. It is easy to grip after getting slippery with cocoa butter or Battlefield Foam. It does not cause user fatigue even after extended use. The raised print helps grip in these situations. Great for arms, hands, and smaller areas in shoulder and back.
