Nike Metcon 9 - men's

Astronomy Blue / Hyper Crimson / Pale Ivory / Black

The Nike Metcon 9 men’s cross-training shoe is engineered to help athletes maximize their workouts and unlock their fullest potential.

Since its inception, the Metcon line has always put an equal emphasis on stability, mobility, and comfort, and the latest model continues that mission, applying new feedback provided by elite athletes from a wide range of disciplines. Updates include a larger Hyperlift plate in the heel for even greater stability during split squats, deadlifts, and other lower body exercises; plus an extension of the rubber side wrap for improved rope climb support and durability.

Lightweight mesh helps to limit sweat and moisture, but is still built tough enough to withstand everyday scrapes, slashes, and quick-drag movements. The breathable textile of the Metcon 9 also features a haptic print, which adds texture in a 3-D effect, helping make it easier to keep your shoes clean.

A dual-density midsole—firm foam on the outside, soft foam on the inside—ensures responsive cushioning for continuous cardio movements, and flexible support is engineered into the toe area, so that when your toes splay when lifting heavy weights, it won’t feel restrictive.

Check out the purchase area for all current size options.

Overall not bad
Decent lifting shoes, not great for walking/running (as they aren't very comfortable and wear pretty quickly). Relatively narrow, and the support fits the foot a bit tighter than other shoes, but it fits the purpose.

Too high on the ankle
This is my least favorite Metcon so far. The boot is too high and too stiff making it uncomfortable. Going back to the Metcon 8. I should have sent them back but thought they might break in.

NEVER again
It is terrible to have an online store that doesn’t have free exchanges. I ordered these for my son for Christmas. I ordered the same size as another Nike shoe he had, however they did not fit the same. I need to exchange not return and was charged for the return. I will NEVER buy from this company again. I did order my daughter in law the same shoe from another company. I usually check the return policy, but in the craziness of the holidays obviously missed this one.

Rock Hard
Decent shoe for lifting and only lifting. Heel collar and sole add stability while performing squats and deadlifts but the rigidity of this area makes running and other impact painful and tedius

Great Weightlifting Shoes but....
The Nike Metcon 9's are great weightlifting shoes as they have helped fixed my problems in my snatch and back squat. The shoes allow you to feel the whole floor when you lift and when climbing a rope you will not slide off the rope when clamping your feet down. However the shoe is heavy so after wearing them for 5-8 hours they do leave your feet a little sore and running in them is a little bit of a task but other than that I highly recommend this show

Just Do Better Nike
The last version of Metcon’s felt cheap compared. I chalked that up to the issues that were effected most manufacturers. Fast forward to these. There are so many things NOT to like about this shoe. The size. As big as the shoe is it feels even bigger.Super clunky. Toe box is most akin to Altra’s (best running shoes ever) that would be fine except in my close to 9 years of CrossFit I’ve never ran more than 2 miles in any WOD. Just like the last version, the materials feel cheap. Heal cup fit well but that about the only credit I’d be willing to offer Nike on this show. Mine are on the way back to Rogue as I write this review. I suppose I’ll have to find another show until Nike gets their act together.
