PRECISION MEETS POWER
Every Ohio Power Bar is precisely machined and assembled in Columbus, OH using US steel that is proven ideal for heavy powerlifting. We combine a 205,000 PSI tensile strength, low flexion shaft, IPF powerlifting knurl marks and our signature Ohio Power Bar knurling. The knurling is machined in a pattern that is deep and coarse, providing an ideal surface for heavy pulls without being sharp or abrasive. Additionally, it features a matching center knurl that adheres to your back when you need it most.
Available in a Cerakote finish with a range of exclusive colorways to choose from, this unique polymer-ceramic composite coating is most known for its durability in thin applications, offering up to 100X the corrosion resistance of standard black zinc. Combining that with our proprietary matte black sleeves, finished through a process that effectively transforms the surface of the steel rather than coating it– it’s among the most durable power bars to date.
ENHANCED FEATURES
Best In Class Durability: Rogue manufactures the world's most durable barbells, and the Ohio Power Bar is no exception. This bar has been engineered to withstand the heavy demands required from the home gym to the commercial facility. Read more here.
2X Quieter Performance: Refined with even stricter tolerances, precision-machined bronze bushings fit tighter around the shaft, and improved internal sleeve tolerances dampen sound and eliminate unwanted movement, ensuring a smoother and more stable lift.
Low Profile Sleeve Design: The sleeves are now machined using a new low-profile sleeve design that allows for easier than ever loading and unloading of plates.
UNMATCHED REPUTATION
The Rogue Ohio Power Bar has set the standard as the premier choice for powerlifting barbells in the industry. With our latest edition, we've taken our flagship power bar to new levels, introducing the most precision machined Ohio Power Bar yet. More than just a barbell, the Rogue Ohio Power Bar represents where we work, who we are, and the pride we feel in continuing to make the best weightlifting bars in the market.
Please Note: Cerakote has an excellent resistance to corrosion, but metal-to-metal contact, particular on the sleeves, can still cause wear over time. For the best long term results, some cleaning and maintenance may be required. See our Ohio Bar Care Page for more info.

Best In Class Durability
With F-Scale ratings of F8-R and F10-R, the Ohio Power Bar is among the most durable barbells in its class. LOW PROFILE SLEEVE DESIGN
Our sleeves use a new, low-profile design that makes loading and unloading plates easier than ever. Choose between a durable proprietary matte black finish, or black Cerakote if customized, or a classic chrome finish.
How It's Made
FRICTION WELDING
The collars of the sleeves are friction welded, creating the strongest sleeves in the industry. This bond is as strong as if machined from a single piece of steel, while saving on waste and cost.
Rogue Work Hardening
Our patented, proprietary process more than doubles the durability and lifespan of the barbell shaft compared to our competitors.
Cerakote Shaft Finish
Cerakote delivers outstanding corrosion resistance over time—100X that of standard black zinc—while also providing many color options. This polymer-ceramic composite coating was first popularized in the firearm industry for its unique durability in thin applications.
Proprietary Sleeve Finish
Our matte black sleeve option involves a new process that effectively transforms the surface of the steel rather than coating it. This transformation significantly enhances the sleeves’ corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and abrasion resistance.
State-of-the-art Gauging
We use gauging normally employed in the aerospace industry to ensure that every bar that makes it to a customer is exactly as designed.
Barbell Durability
RUST RESISTANCE
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.
BARBELL DURABILITY
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.
F SCALE™ APPLICATION
How a barbell is used will affect its durable lifespan and it's a key factor in determining what type of F Rating™ might be suitable for your gym's needs. This graph correlates the F Rating™ of a barbell with different types of usage in order to predict the durable lifespan. Using this data, we are able to make recommendations on what F Rating™ is appropriate for different training situations. With ratings of F8-R and F10-R, the Ohio Power Bar is rated to outlast a lifetime (50+ years) in a powerlifting facility or home gym.
Ohio Power Bar FAQ
Cerakote delivers outstanding corrosion resistance over time—100X that of standard black zinc—while also providing many color options. This polymer-ceramic composite coating was first popularized in the firearm industry for its unique durability in thin applications.
Stainless steel will be the most resistant to corrosion out of all barbell finishes. With no plating, the knurl is left exactly how we machined it, providing a great feel that cannot be achieved with other finishes.
The Ohio Power Bar knurl is aggressive, featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive.
With a Cerakote finish and durable bushing sleeve design, virtually no maintenance is required for this barbell to continue to perform as it does on day one. For optimal results, we recommend regularly brushing the knurl with a nylon bristle brush to keep it clear of debris and chalk. 3:1 oil can also be used to brush in to remove anything that can't be removed from dry brushing. Wipe dry with a clean cloth.
This is a full length barbell, commonly refered to as a 7' long barbell. Exact length is 86.52".
The Ohio Power Bar carries a lifetime warranty against construction and bending. You can find the warranty details here.
Yes. The Ohio Power Bar has a center knurl providing additional grip on your back for squatting.
The Ohio Power Bar weighs 45lbs.
Our barbells are tested by a third-party to determine their F-Rating, or fatigue resistance, which is a measured representation of the durability of the barbell. You can read more on the F-Rating and what affects the durability of any barbell on the market here.
Measured in PSI, tensile strength indicates the maximum weight a barbell can bear before undergoing deformation. With a tensile strength of 190K, or 200K for stainless, it aligns with the ideal range—resistant to permanent deformation under regular use, while avoiding over-inflation that could render the bar brittle and shorten its lifespan.
The Ohio Power Bar is designed to handle more weight than any human can lift. This is the bar of choice for many of the strongest athletes in the world and is backed with a lifetime warranty against bending. You won't find a static weight rating on any of our barbells, as that can be very misleading. This is because a barbell is always in a dynamic state during a lift, resulting in a potential failure at a weight much lower than the static weight rating.
Designed primarily as a powerlifting bar, the Ohio Power Bar excels in the squat, bench, and deadlift, but can also be used for any accessory movements requiring a barbell.
Yes. The Ohio Power Bar has a 51-1/2" shaft length between the sleeves allows this to be racked on any well-known power racks, squat stands, or rigs in existence.
The Ohio Power Bar is compatible with all plates made to Olympic spec, commonly referred to as plates having a 2" center opening or Olympic plates.

CUSTOM BUILD-A-BAR OPTIONS WITH THE ZEUS OHIO POWER BAR
Shaft Colors - Cerakote
There are currently 4 Cerakote color finishes to choose from with the Ohio Power Bar—Black, Blue, Red and Green—so odds are good there’s a match for your gym, business, favorite team, etc. Cerakote is an advanced ceramic-based coating, originally established in the gun industry for its remarkable durability in thin applications. This unique finish can deliver superb abrasion/wear/corrosion resistance over time—100X that of standard black zinc—and it offers far greater versatility in design, as well.
Sleeve Finish
Choose between classic Chrome or Black Cerakote. Please Note: If you want custom text on your sleeve collars, you’ll need to select the Cerakote option, as text cannot be added over chrome.
*If no customizations are made to the black sleeve, it will have our proprietary black finish instead of Cerakote.
Custom Logos and Text on Shaft
Once you’ve selected your preferred Cerakote color finish for the Ohio Power Bar shaft, you can take the extra step of adding personalized images and/or text to go on each side of the center knurl. Logos can be conveniently uploaded via the dropdown menu, and customers can quickly select the font style and color of any text before typing a name, slogan, etc. into the provided text box. Please Note: Text and images cannot be uploaded together into one custom section.
Text on Sleeve Collars
Our custom text tool can be used for adding content to your bar’s sleeve collars, as well (only on Cerakote; text CANNOT be added on Chrome sleeves). Select your preferred font style and color, then type a name, slogan, etc., into the provided text box.
